Zhao Puchu, an endless meaning of Zhai, was born in Taihu County, Anhui Province in 1907. He is an important leader in Chinese Buddhism, social activist, poetry, calligrapher, etc. Secretary of the Association, Deputy Dean of the Children’s Care Center of Shanghai Pure News Agency, and the vice chairman of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, and other parties. Zhao Puchu was a descendant of the Song Dynasty. Since he was a child, he was influenced by the literati of the Hanlin family. He had a warm patriotic heart. He had participated in the anti-Japanese rescue activities many times during his youth. Therefore, it is admired by the political, Buddhist, and art circles, and is respected as Zhao Pu Lao and Park Lao.
Zhao Puchu graduated from Soochow University’s Chinese majors and often has the opportunity to obtain advice from the famous calligraphy master. Therefore he has a gradual skill and solid foundation. After studying the Buddhist scriptures, he has developed a dignified and stable, vigorous, and timeless Buddhist attitude. The release is free, the brushwork is full of righteousness, grace, and it is convinced from the bottom of the heart. He has published his works “The Collection of Dripping Water”, “The Collection of Pieces of Stone”, “The Collection of Zhao Puchu’s Calligraphy”, “The Collection of Zhao Puchu’s Writings”. Because Park Lao has a huge achievement, even if he has passed the 20th anniversary, the Shanghai Museum has specially held a two-month “Zhao Puchu Calligraphy Art Exhibition” for future generations.
