Lu Zhengde, a famous local painter in Malaysia, was born in Negeri Sembilan in 1967 and graduated from Kuala Lumpur Academy of Fine Arts (KLCA) in 1989. He loved painting and architecture since childhood. His first choice was the Department of Architecture, and his second choice was painting. Finally, under the guidance of fate, Lv Zhengde embarked on the road of fine arts. In the early days, he worked part-time in an advertising company, and helped people paint illustrations, watercolors, etc., and unknowingly laid a solid foundation for painting techniques. Later, when he became a full-time painter, Lv Zhengde’s creative themes also began to revolve around architecture and street scenes. It can be seen that he has a keen love for buildings, and it can be considered that painting has fulfilled his childhood dream.

Lu Zhengde is famous in the art world for his paintings of historical relics, ancient buildings, and old street scenes. He has lived here for a long time and is observant of the details of every scene, especially the old street scenes in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Malacca, and other areas. Lu Zhengde likes to embellish bicycles and pedestrians in his paintings, showing the elusive atmosphere of the old times, thus retaining the unique cultural history and architectural style of the Malaysian Chinese. Lu Zhengde has held more than ten solo exhibitions since 2010, including “Window Series”, “Old City”, “Malay Kampong Architecture” and other themes.
