張碧茵 Zhang Bi Yin

Zhang Biyin was born in Penang, Malaysia in 1955. Her ancestral home is Minhou, Fujian. She is a famous painter and teacher of ink painting. Her students are all over northern, central, and southern Malaysia. Zhang Biyin graduated from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore, and studied under the international painting and calligraphy and artist Zhong Zhengshan. She is Zhong Lao’s beloved disciple and a proud student. Every art exhibition held by Zhong Zhengshan is supported by Zhong Zhengshan in person. Zhang Biyin is good at ink painting and oil painting. On the one hand, she inherits the heroic style of Zhong Zhengshan, and on the other hand, she skillfully uses two kinds of pigments, ink, and acrylic in her works, to form a blend of multi-level contradictions, such as tradition and modernity, concrete and abstract, East and West, etc. Cheng’s works with a strong personal style have been widely praised by all walks of life. Even the founding father of Malaysia, Tunku Abdul Rahman, was present to support the exhibition.

Zhang Biyin’s paintings not only have the vivid and bright acrylic colors but also the loneliness and mystery conveyed by the black and white ink painting so that the audience can feel a different aesthetic experience every time. Over the years, she has been invited to hold many solo exhibitions, teacher-student exhibitions Joint exhibition with painters, footprints in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor Bahru, Muar, and other national cities. In addition, she has also participated in large-scale exhibitions such as the Nanyang Style Art Exhibition, the 2nd Asian Art Association Alliance Art Exhibition, the Arthui Malaysian Artists Group Exhibition, and the Malaysia-China Calligraphy and Painting Invitational Exhibition. The “Overseas Youth Art Exhibition Competition” hosted by the Taipei National Museum won the Excellent Work Award.
