李永發 Lee Weng Fatt

Li Yongfa was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 1967. He received regular art training at the Kuala Lumpur Academy of Fine Arts (KLCA). He initially devoted himself to the art world with watercolor painting. After 1995, he began to focus on oil painting creation, mainly depicting ancient buildings in various cities in Malaysia, and the precious figures of leaving these cultural relics are well-known. Li Yongfa’s paintings are full of nostalgia, can give these buildings a real sense of existence, and evoke people’s cherishment of their historical and cultural background. These works have reproduced the ancient architecture and cultural heritage that is gradually disappearing in life, so that everyone can feel the beauty and grandeur of historical monuments again, and get a pleasure from it. Li Yongfa’s paintings are greatly loved by the people and have been exhibited many times at home and abroad. Former Malaysian Minister of Culture Dato’dr Rais Yatim also praised: “Yongfa’s works can help revitalize the field of cultural heritage in the country, and it can also change the commiserate that are attempt to replace historical districts with modernization.”
