Shen Muyu, born in Malacca in 1913, was born in Jinjiang, Fujian. He is famous in Malaysia for fighting and advocating education for the Chinese in Malaysia. His father, Shen Hongbai, was one of the leaders of the Malacca Alliance and the founder of the ancient city Peifeng Middle School. As a result, Shen Muyu was deeply influenced and influenced by the family. In the Lugou Bridge Incident in 1937, Shen Muyu actively led the anti-Japanese activities in Malaysia.
After the war, Shen Muyu devoted himself to politics to defend the status of Chinese education in Malaysia. He and Lin Lianyu initiated to organize the National Chinese School Teachers’ Association, founded the MCA Youth League, the principal of several Chinese schools in a row of Chinese schools. He was expelled from the party because he was struggling to include Chinese texts in the official language. He also being arrested and jailed for being suspected of violating the “incitement decree” because of attempt to advocate the unity of the Chinese people. Shen Muyu is an important founder of MCA education. He has a famous saying: “Serving a lifetime and fighting a lifetime”.
