Zhong Zhengchuan, courtesy name Kong Qiang, nickname “Barefoot”, was born in Malacca, Malaysia in 1945. His ancestral home is Meixian, Guangdong. He is currently the vice president of the World Federation of Artists, the honorary chairman of the United Nations Federation of Asian Artists, the consultant of the Chinese Calligraphy and Painter Research Association, and the consultant of the Chinese Hard Pen Calligraphy Association. Zhong Zhengchuan is a famous Chinese painter in Malaysia. He is good at painting flowers, birds, fish and insects, and other themes. His works blend the two cultures of China and Southeast Asia. The content is mainly coconut groves, islands and fishing villages. The composition inherits traditional Chinese ink painting techniques. He has created ink paintings with the beauty of the four arts of “spirit, rhythm, breath, and taste”, but with a unique Nanyang style, creating a unique symbol of artists in Singapore and Malaysia. Since joining the industry, Zhong Zhengchuan has vigorously promoted artistic exchanges between Malaysia and China. He has been repeatedly invited by the Chinese Ministry of Culture to hold personal exhibitions or participate in world painting and calligraphy exhibitions. Zhong Zhengchuan is an important painter in Nanyang. He is praised as “Malaysian Qi Baishi”. He has been selected as one of the five famous artists in the “Contemporary Masters of Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Art at Home and Abroad”. The National Art Museum of Malaysia, the National Guest House of Malaysia, the China National Academy of Arts, the Korean Culture and Art Museum, the National Museum of Education in Taiwan, the Qi Baishi Memorial Hall, the Zhang Daqian Memorial Hall, and many other national art museums, as well as the former Prime Minister of Malaysia Abdullah, the former leader of North Korea Kim Il General Cheng, Chairman of the Workers’ Party of Korea Kim Jong Il and other heads of state and dignitaries treasured.
